Curriculum Vitae

Prof. Hai-Tao Zhang was born in 1977, now he is the Deputy Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation; Distinguished Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, doctoral tutor, Changjiang Young Scholar, National Top Young Talents, National Excellent Youth, New Century Excellent Talent. Prof. Zhang received his B.Eng. degree from the Department of Automation, University of Science and Technology of China and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Department of Administration Science, University of Science and Technology in 2000. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Automation, University of Science and Technology in 2005. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Control Group of Engineering Department, University of Cambridge from 2007.1-2007.12. In 2005, he joined the Huazhong University of Science and Technology as an associate professor, and was promoted to professor in 2010. Later, Prof. Zhang was named as doctoral tutor. He had visited academic institutions such as University of Cambridge, California University, University of Virginia and etc.

Prof. Zhang has been engaged in the research of collective intelligence, artificial intelligence, collaborative manufacturing of group robots, coordination control of fully autonomous unmanned surface vessels for a long time. He has presided over more than 20 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major research plans and etc. He is the first author and corresponding author of 84 SCI papers with 39 Automatica and IEEE Transactions, he also participated in the writing of three English Monographs. The research work received favourable comments form more than 10 academicians in Europe and America and more than 40 IEEE Fellows, and selected as the research highlights of Nature Physics in 2016. 37 patents are applied and authorized.

Prof. Zhang is a member of Editorial Board of Scientific Reports which is published by Nature, SCI international journals IEEE Trans. Circuits and Systems II and Asian Journal of Control; Editorial Board member of IEEE CDC, ACC, IFAC and etc.; IEEE Senior Member. He was invited by President of the American Academy of Sciences to give a report at fifteenth Chinese-American Kavil Frontiers of Science symposium. The team "Multi-robot coordination control" led by him was selected as the 2016 Academic Young Frontline Team of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He also instructs students to obtain excellent doctoral dissertations in Hubei Province once, excellent master's thesis twice.
